Lifestyle Freedom ~ Entrepreneurs And Encore Career Persons On Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day to all my peeps!

Oh, how I am LOVING my lifestyle freedom this Memorial Day weekend! It is the dream life that I used to think was impossible, but am now living! High five to all the entrepreneurs and encore career persons out there who are living the dream this weekend!

And a great big, huge thank you to the many, many veterans who have sacrificed their time with their families, their months, or years, or even their life, so that we can enjoy the freedom to choose to work in a “traditional job or profession” or to strike out alone as an entrepreneur without any of the usual safety nets that we associate with full time jobs.

I'm wondering how many of you are still stuck in the rat race, especially in service jobs that function 24/7, like I was just a little over a year ago now. There are lots of them too: doctors, nurses, police officers, firemen, road crews, radio and television persons, housekeepers and maintenance persons in hospitals and hotels, as well as the front desk managers, burger joints and diners, Dunkin' Donuts, grocery store managers, etc. I'm sure that there are many more that aren't coming to mind right now, but you know who you are without me naming you. You are the folks who have to work alternate shifts like 3-11 or 4 – 12, or 11 pm to 7 am 12 midnight to 8 am ,as well as days.

Wonder if it is for you the way it used to be for me around every holiday. Either you work the holiday or the day or days before and after it to cover for the individuals who actually are working the holiday so that they can have a day off. Basically, you have never fully enjoy a holiday….ever!!
